Thanksgiving Workouts

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and that means a couple of things.
- Lots of food
- Lots of football
- Not much exercise
Now there is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying good food with great company, and watching the great sport of football.
However, if you are still trying to lose weight or just improve your overall health, it's a great idea to do something physically active on a day that revolves around food.
So, here is what I suggest. Do your workout first thing in the day. If you put it off until later, it most likely won't get done. In the midst of cooking, eating, hanging out with friends and family, and watching football and/or the dog show, it's easy to just put it off.
If you want to get in a great workout in minimum time, there are a couple of things you can do.
My prefered method of physical activity for tomorrow would be hill sprints. These don't take long to complete and would be a tremendous start to your day. Get outside, do a thorough warm-up, find a hill, and sprint up it as fast as you can.
Depending on how long the hill is, walk back down and then sprint up it again, and repeat.
The longer the hill, the fewer sprints you will run, and the shorter the hill the more sprints you will run.
If the weather isn't nice enough for you to get outside, or you live in a state that is flat as a pancake, try doing a bodyweight circuit.
Here is a video I filmed back in May that shows you an advanced bodyweight circuit:
If you would prefer a more beginner friendly bodyweight circuit, then give this one a try:
Finally, if you have a jump rope, then you might prefer to try this workout => Fat Burning Jump Rope Workout.
So there you go. You have some great options for a Thanksgiving workout. And remember, it would be a good idea to do this first thing in the morning so you can get it done and over with.
Other than that, I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
Is anyone doing anything crazy/unique tomorrow, or sticking to tradition?

Alexandra-
I had a great Thanksgiving and I hope you did as well.
I'm glad you liked the bodyweight circuit. Fast, but effective. ; )
Hope you're doing great!
Kellie-
Yeah, we have a Thanksgiving Day 5k walk/run, but I haven't done that before. I've never seen anyone dress up as a turkey, but it sounds fun! ; )
thanks again!

I always run a turkey trot the morning of thanksgiving. It's a great to way to give to donate to charity, do something with your friends, and watch all the crazy runners dressed up as turkeys. Just skip the post run drinks...or NOT!

Hi Nia,
I hope you are enjoying you Thanksgiving and feasting without guilt! It's early here in my neck of the woods (10:15 am) so no feasting yet; I just put the Turkey in the oven.
I did the Advance BW circuit about an hour ago. It was perfect! I did 5 rounds which took me about 20 minutes. I did add a some side to side (speed skaters) medicine ball twists and regular pushups in each circuit right after the mountain climbers.
I worked heavy legs yesterday and wanted to do something active today ('cause I will be eating lots !) but I didn't want to do something that overtaxed my legs so this was the perfect circuit.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Have a great Thanksgiving
